Good Evening Bloggers!Tonight I am blogging about the shocking number of people in need of aid in Haiti!
The UN reports 'there is still a lot to be done' after the really bad earthquake in Haiti. There are about 1,000,000 people homeless and 230,000 deaths. Can you believe ONLY 330,000 people have been given emergency shelter? 70 per cent of resources have yet to be collected to build an interim shelter for the remaining homeless before the rainy season kicks in!
The UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) reckons that realistic goals have to be set in time for the monsoon season.
What do you think are the 3 most important things the UN has to prioritize in Haiti, before the rain starts washing away the last hopes of the people in need?
I think the UN should prioritize in shelter, food and health care!
Feel free to voice your thoughts and debate!

Hi,
The UN needs to prioritise rescue and medical assistance, as well as basic amenities like water, sanitation and shelter.
But in order to provide this they need more funds and all of us can help!!!!
For example, at work we have organized a dress down day for which employees can come to work casually dressed instead of smart. In the entrance of the building everyone dropped their lose change into a big pot for being allowed to dress down. All the money collected went to a charity organization for Haiti, our employer even matched what we had donated!
Do you have any other ideas what we could do? Share your ideas?
On the below link you can donate money for Haiti:

Thanks,

I think a good idea to raise money would be for the organisation to host an event. And the money collected from the ticket sales could go to a charity helping people in Haiti to restructure their lives.
For example: Schools could have an event(choir, play, etc..)and the money collected could go to UNICEF and help children in need.
1. Medical assistance
2. Food
3. Shelter
